Dr. Adwoa S. Amankwah is a Senior Lecturer and the Head of the Department of Communication Studies
at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, Ghana. She has pedagogical, research and industry
experience in training journalists, public relations officers as well as communications scholars
and practitioners on various projects spanning the interface between AI and elections, language
and gender, corporate communications and corporate social responsibility as well as risk journalism among others.
Her research interests intertwine areas such as digital media, political communication and elections
,health communication, media as well as the interface between language and communication.
By applying theory to practice, she explores the nexus between these subjects and contemporary
issues that aim at providing pragmatic solutions to challenges confronting communications and
society. She has a number of publications in peer-reviewed journals to her credit and has presented
research papers at international conferences. Dr. Amankwah holds a PhD in Communication Science from
the University of South Africa.
